Using devices while trying to work at your desk can be incredibly distracting and is proven to negatively impact productivity. This activity involves limiting desk work to four hours, with scheduled breaks, during which focused work can be carried out without interruption. Data shows that the 5th straight hour of work can be much less productive, hence it is expressed as a four hour activity, though it can also be less. Some people find it helpful to do this with other people around to help keep them to account, such as during virtual or live in person coworking sessions.
